The full spectrum of my professional nutrition services range from basic nutrition counseling/education for those who simply want to improve their diet and lifestyle, on up to therapeutic nutritional support for specific health conditions - everything from indigestion to cancer (See list of specialties below). Professional nutrition services determine your personal health profile. One size does not fit everyone. Anyone can sell you vitamins, few can tell you precisely which nutrients will best meet your actual, individual need.

Are you struggling with meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation? Perhaps you are trying to process a new medical diagnosis of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes. Maybe you are seeking functional and integrative nutrition guidance for a gastrointestinal condition or an autoimmune disorder. The amount of nutrition information available can feel overwhelming and the recommendations might seem impersonal, unsustainable, and not rooted in science. If you are seeking compassionate, individualized, evidence-based care, I am excited to hear your story and support you in achieving optimal health and wellness.

I work with adolescents and young adults to achieve a healthy relationship with food, body, and exercise. I include families in my treatment, as needed, to ensure adequate supports for everyone. Treating an eating disorder works best with a team-- I work with parents, therapists, medical providers, and any other professionals to help my clients recover.

If you're feeling like you're losing a longstanding battle with your body, you're not alone. Or perhaps your constant attempts to control food ends up feeling like food is controlling you and your life. Again, you are not alone. You do not have to live a life that is limited by food rules, even if they're in the name of health. You do not have to live in constant worry about what others will think of your body. You do not have to waste the majority of your precious mental and emotional capacity ruminating on food and your body. Because: you were born for great things.

Hi there! My name is Lydia and I'm a Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian who is passionate about helping individuals heal their relationship with food and their bodies. We live in a society that is very diet and weight-focused which often results in people feeling negatively about their bodies and feeling lost on how to eat "right". This cultural diet-mindset makes it confusing to know how to approach decisions about nutrition and how these decisions may impact your health and well-being.

Every new patient I meet is like a puzzle, and I relish the experience of helping each person find the unique combination of pieces that makes their life more complete and fulfilling. I understand that lifestyle change is hard and uncomfortable, but it can also be purposeful and manageable when thought of as a more long-term investment toward your best self. If I can impart any words of encouragement until we first meet, I want you to know two things: there is no such thing as failure, only learning experiences; and you are worth the investment you make in yourself.

Finding balance in nutrition has always been at the forefront of my life. As a young athlete, I was searching for ways to improve my performance and better fuel my body. I tried navigating many different options but my energy level was still running out before games were over. Ultimately, I found that I wasn't eating enough before games. By putting my focus into proper nourishment and meal timing, I was able to increase my performance and feel stronger while playing.

How can an Anacortes Nutritionist help me?
Dietitians and Nutritionists in Anacortes provide advice on good eating habits. They help you with your diet and how it affects your health. They assess nutrition needs and food patterns, plan a diet that's appropriate for your physical and dietary needs, and provide nutrition counseling, such as advice on dietary changes and menu plans.
